i have exactly the same one, cos i were on a budget at the time.
and i can't really grumble with it. does everything i want it to do, i very rarely get a buggered up CD, where ya get buffer under runs and all. i know it aint burn proof, but that is only for the fancy people, it works brilliantly providing ya dont have resource hogging programs running in the background like music software or media centres such as realplayer or Windows Media Player.#
for the price, which for what i paid was a hundred smackers and now it's only 70 smackers ya can't for far wrong than this. i use it to make me music CD's and backup certain disks ;)
the only grouch is the soddin software that comes with it, Adaptec Easy Cd Creator, it's a pile of crap, try Nero CD or Cdrwin there are better proggies out there.
the advantage with this is, it is excellent for overwriting with, like for instance most drives only support the 80 min CD format, LG drives can go way beyond that distance i have used 99min CD's in this and they work a treat. it's also quick for writing directly onto CDr 8x which considering is just as good as some of the top range ones out there. if not a little less speedemistic lol.
all in all it's an excellent buy for the non business user, it's great for backup and the like, so ya cannot really go far wrong :)
the software i usually use with it is Clone CD, Nero or CDrwin
I got a lg and it works fine . The only coasters I've made were 'cos the CD reader had a dirty lens .
have you seen the burnproof on posted at the end of the other thread .if you get it from buy.com and make the order up to £75 you can have 12 months subscription to .net magazine worth £35.
