Welcome geewizz. I have Sky,both analog and digital, and if you get someone in they can fix something to your aerial, which will allow you to watch the same program on all your televisions in different rooms, that is if all your televisions are wired to the aerial.
The other thing is, that you can get, from any electrical shop, something that plugs into your digibox and another piece that goes on the other television. Not sure whether you can get additions for all the televisions, would need to ask in the shop.
Hope this is of help.
The cheapest method would be the second one I have told you about, but the first method is the best.

go to www.maplin.co.uk then TV/Sat then remote control
http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/detail.tpl?SKU=23051&partcode=PT72P:PT73Q:&cart=905125063&d=f&type=1&eqWorlddatarq=TV%20/%20Sat&eqSectiondatarq=Remote%20Control&SecData=%5BeqSectiondata%5D&GroupData=%5BeqGroupdatarq%5D&SubGroup=%5BeqSubGroupdatarq%5D
this is what you need, you can then also change channels from the other TV if you get the one with the extra remote. Works great, just fitted one.

Hi Folks thanks for your replies
done a little bit of searching myself and come up with TVLink/Magic eye from www.satelliteonline.co.uk/skydigitalaccessories @ £19.95 post free. Basically you turn on the RF2 socket at the back of your digibox plug a coaxial lead into it then into this gizmo then the gizmo into the back of the second tele
Cheapest option I have found so far:)

At that price it won't be coming with a remote control, so you won't be able to change the channels on the second TV, a sky remote is £20.
Just had a look and it doesn't, good price for the eye though.
£34.99 with the remote.

I bought a TV Link 4 way amp from www.tracsat.co.uk (http://www.tracsat.co.uk) for £23.50. You simply attach the cable from your Sky box into this device then coax from the 4 outlets to your TVs , this pumps Sky to 4 rooms as opposed to the 1 with the standard TV Link, good piece of kit.

Hi folks
Good point Magnum, though the remote supplied with sky works another of my teles (when substituted for my original tele) to change the channels (nothing else though, so could presumably be used on the bedroom tele
Looking at your link I could only find your suggestion (link+remote at £39.95)am I looking at the wrong thing?
Bean Counter, how do you get over the R/C prob with your kit?

No you are looking at the right thing, yours is cheaper. You could take the remote to the second TV but unless it is the same make of TV you will have to re-program it each time you want to use it on the other TV.

Geewizz, not sure what you mean by "the R/C problem2 as I have bought this item for a new house I am moving to. I have seen it working at a mates house and it is great.
Doesn't need any power to it as the Digibox supplies the power needed. I was told to fit non isolating face plates to the coaxial cable so the power goes through to the TV Link though.

He means how do you change the sky channel from the other TV's?

Doh!! Of course...in day off mode today!
You attach the TV Link eye to the other TV(s) as normal. Assuming all the cables from the amp are fitted correctly this will work perfectly. Of course it does mean you need extra TV Link eyes for each telly . Mind you, if you dont have the eye connected you can still watch whatever channel the digibox is tuned to. You would just need to go to the box to change channels then.

OK let me see if I understand this. If I have a link/magiceye connected to the digibox and to the bedroom set the sky remote should work the sky channels on the bedroom set via the magic eye and then I will only need the bed/tele remote when watching the set in non/sky mode. Is that right?

Yes, or a second sky remote to control the sky and the second tv at the same time.
I use a universal remote to control everything in the sitting room and the sky remote in the bedroom.

I am a thicky, but can you answer me this. my husband has quite an elaborate network and all six televisions in the house are linked to sky digital, admittedly if you want to change the sky channel you have to go to the telly with the digital box to change it. what I want to know is why when he watches mostly sport we have to watch the same channel he is watching. is there no cheap way that I can watch a different channel on sky digital

You'd need another reciever and (I think) another LNB the bit on the dish that picks up the signal, also quite possibly another subscription to sky, so the short answer is no.
Having said that Sky are now doing a box with two recievers in it so you can watch one channel and record the other, it is, however of the 'record to hard drive' variety and will be expensive, but there is no reason why you couldn't take the signal from the second reciever to another TV.

Apparently, starting shortly, Sky will be offering a second box and an extra LNB for £50 so you can watch 2 channels at the same time. They will "only" charge half your existing subscription fee for the second box so if you currently pay £30 for 1 sub the second will take your fee up to £45.
