Have both a PS mouse and a Serial mouse running and active both at the same time using Windows ME.

Also could anyone suggest a decent (free if possible) antivirus program for Windows ME. Please not AVG as I have problems with that one in the past. Also it needs to be one that updates automatically when I`m connected to the net, and not just at a set time. Not like AVG were you set the scheduler to download at a set time and you have to be connected or it does`nt download. As I tend to forget to update things if they don`t do it themselves.

Bank with the Halifax, online, and get Trend PC-cillin for free, automatic updates. Very good.

Cheers all. Got the two mice working. The reason why I like to have the two is that the PS 2 one that I use most of the time is a cordless optical one with rechargeable batterys with its own charger stand and I have a habit of forgetting to put the mouse in its holder. So I have the serial mouse plugged in and ready as a stand by for when the batterys run flat on the PS2 one.

As to the AV I throught Nortons slowed down the system?

Best free AV is Avast:
http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html

Frequent auto updates. (voice and pop-up tells you when it updates, and another voice and pop-up warns of virus etc).

Specific scan modules for any P2P & messengers & mail programs.

Easy to use.

Various cool skins available too.

It`s a good `un alright.

It is a bit resource hungry though, apparently.

Cheers,

Trev.

Any AV that constantly mointors the system for virus is going to slow the system down. On any modern system you won't notice, if you want you can turn off the autoprotect and just have it scan emails.

I used to have a Serial glide-pad, and a PS/2 mouse - I wonder if you coulld run 3 by adding a USB one as well?

Actually, two RELATIVE position devices (Mice, glides, trackerball, sticks, the wobbly button on some laptops) works sensibly in sequence, and even both at once.

If one device is ABSOLUTE position (eg. a Tablet) then it will continually pull back to that position, so if you use a mouse and a tablet, then the pen must not be "live" on the tablet while using the mouse.
