I've heard a lot of bad things about Morpheus, and I'm always wary about installing invasive software, does your pc still belong to you or have MusicCity taken it over completely ?

No problems with it really. I've heard rumours it is spyware , i've run adaware and removed all the spyware on my machine and it still works fine. If it is spyware it runs fine without it.

It is basically a piece of software that monitors things on your computer e.g. browsing habits and sends it across the internet. This software is usually installed as part of another software package (most if the time without warning). Most people won't have a clue if there is any on their system.

I've read some reports of Morpheus sharing people's entire hard drive with other users, with no way of disallowing certain shares, almost trojan like.

Some of the negative reviews at cnet make very interesting reading.

Half of them seem like lies to be honest. I've not experienced any of the problems that they mention, only takes a minute to log on, resumes all my downloads, downloads can be slow but that depends on the user. The selection of stuff the search engine returns isn't huge but is O.K.
It's not perfect but i've tried winmx and bearshare and it's better than either of them:)

Yep its morpheus for me too , i've managed to get certain tracks napster didn't have when working properly. The only thing with morpheus is watch you don't let it start up every time your pc does there's a tick box.
