Anyone know where I can get a new washer for my 1 litre, stainless steel Thermos Flask?
Thermos now seem to be based in Hong Kong.
It seems a shame to dump a £19.99 flask for the sake of a plastic washer.

Buy a three quid one from poundsaver or summat like and use the innards from that.
From memory stainless thermos flasks are about seven quid plus vat at the wholesalers.

your local plumbers merchant should have summat suitable to fit. if not try and cut an old inner tube up. makes a great seal.

the seals are on the stopper not the flask mate and they sit in a recess on it. the top one one is like a silicon O ring and bottom one is pretty unlike owt i've seen TBH. I dont think either can be botched,

The appearance of it put me off trying to bodge it.

Magic.
Cheers John.
I have ordered a new one @ £8. Easier than chasing a new washer.

New flask delivered yesterday morning, 3rd.
Marvellous. Far more effective than the genuine Thermos at two and a half times the price. I still had hot coffee when I got home at 6-30. Twelve hours after I brewed it. The Thermos used to be damned nearly cold after 8 hours.

And I might do likewise.
I don't have a flask at present, but have been thinking for some time that one would be handy for trips outside London in the winter.
Hadn't heard of CCC before, but I reckon that anyone who opens a shop for walkers in Hathersage rather than just sticking to Unit X437, Faceless Shopping Centre, Dullsville, must be OK or they wouldn't last long!
Chris's comments seem to confirm this, so thanks for the link, John, and for the update, Chris. :)

:lol
It's the bits in between that are the problem. If the 8.41 back from Chelmsford decides to cheat by running on time, I miss it. Sod's Law is that the 9.02 is then cancelled and the 9.17 runs ten minutes late. I could use a cuppa to warm me up while standing there freezing, and there are other situations where one would be nice en route.
(Edit)
Cross-posted. Thanks for the revised link, John - hope that one's still the same tomorrow, as I intend ordering it then (really broke until the pennies go in the bank in the morning!) - I'll rummage around and find it if not though, shouldn't be difficult when you know what you want.
