I have just installed ZoneAlarm, but cant use it with AOL, it wont allow me to do anything unless I knock the security levels down to medium, which is less that what I want.
Is there anything I can do about that?

AOL6 works with ZA on high
Unless ZA have changed something
Medium is fine BTW especially as AOL are firewalled up to their teeth.

On ZA try setting the AOL to 'Allow Server' then trying it on high. This will let AOL communicate to and from the NET. But again I back what Nick said. Upgrade to version6 of AOL.

I am already on version 6, and I have tried the allow server thing too. I cant access the net through internet explorer either. I have emailed tech support so i await a reply...patiently.

Manoman, Zone alarm works fine with Aol6 for 99.9% of the time, but having said that there have been odd times when Aol just will not work until you reduce ZA down to medium.
It seems to be just an odd thing that happens and the next time you connect it works anyway!
If you have repeated problems try setting ZA on medium then once connected switch it back to high.

That seems likely, thanks for the info...AOL is a widely used ISP now so maybe ZA will get an update to sort this out.
Is it true that AOL has its own firewall at source?
