An old question I'm sure - for which apologies - but how can one get rid of all the routing information (Headers) at the end of each email? It is usually longer than the message itself.

For the record, AOL Tech advice is as follows:
"In relation to this particular query these headers are vital infromation from the server for the email to be sent and recieved.
Unfortunately there is no way of not recieving this information in your emails."
Another reason to use a free-standing email program instead of AOL!
Can anyone tell me how to set up a free standing e-mail program to send and receive AOL mail.

I may be reading this the wrong way? But if you are referring to an e-mail program! I use Eudora and I also use twigger.co.uk and hotmail to firstly filter out any junk before I then download to Eudora. I have always maintained my e-mail account with Cable and Wireless now NTL for the following reasons: I have been subscribed to many UN-metered service providers in the past, but always been wary of switching my e-mails to them. But in the case of AOL I am certain that they will not go to the wall like the others – and even if their UN-metered service ended tomorrow, AOL as a group of companies would not.
But for myself to change from NTL to AOL, it would indeed be a daunting task, as I would have to notify thousands of this change.
Steve,
When singed on to the net using AOL, can you still send and receive your NTL e-mail?
I've tried to do this with my sniffout account, mail can be received but cannot be sent.
Any suggestions?

You will find that it is possible to send email as well as receive whilst connected to Aol, it is an undocumented feature of Aol that they don't advertise, most of the time it works but there are times when it won't send.
FWIW I have discovered that I cannot send email using another isp whilst connected to Aol via the 1634 numbers but I can with some of the 0800 numbers, as I find 1634 numbers faster I normally connect with these but if I am planning to send email via OE5.5 then I use one of my selected 0800 numbers.
You will find that though the mail appears to be sent via your other isp it will in fact be 'hijacked' and sent through Aol, as the headers indicate.

Normally you cannot do this, however there is a programme that will allow you to send and receive Aol mail via OE5.5. it is called eNETbot, the url is http://www.enetbot.com/
I I have not tried this myself though so I cannot comment either for or against it.
