This is now printed on Libertysurf Message of the day!!!.
Our first anniversary is due very soon now and contracts for your unmetered service launched last May are coming to an end. Don't worry though, we're not going to cut you off but we do have to tell you that your contract is about to finish.
So, what now? Well, firstly we will be e-mailing you before your contract finishes to give you notice and we still have an unmetered service now that we are part of Tiscali (I'm sure you've noticed) and it's not limited to any particular time. It's called Tiscali Unlimited and at £14.99 a month it's great value from the second largest Internet service provider in Europe. This package is best for the serious Internet user; however, we still have a pay as you go service called Tiscali Classic.
We'll be getting in touch with you soon, so keep checking your e-mail and Membership Area
Now from the look of that it doesn't look like we are going to get our extra month!, does anyone have a copy of that email we were sent notifying us that we were supposed to be getting an extra month due to bad service?, cos im going to challenge them about it!.

Dear LibertySurf User,
We hope you are enjoying this product and spending many happy hours on the internet!
You are one of the first to have bought the LibertySurf CD and as such you may have experienced some problems, either with getting connected or receiving assistance from the helpline.
In recognition of any problems you may have had, we would like to offer you an additional month of internet access at no extra charge.
This means you will have 13 months unmetered off-peak internet access for just £20.
Happy surfing!
By the way, if you need to have a rant about any part of the service (or you would like to say well done ) then please drop us a mail at canyouhelpme@libertysurf.co.uk and we will get back to you .

Having read this thread I went to my check calls out and I'm given as joined 13th April and my finishing day as 13th May (Today by coincidence)So they did honour their 13 month promise. Haven't recieved any e mail yet and I don't want to carry on with their fixed rate per month unmetered ISP. Can only sit and wait to get something from them to say NO. Might try tomorrow to see if I can still access it.

Correction to the above  I was looking at call date periods, not the date I joined which I believe now was sometime in May 2000. So that with extra month added should be sometime June 2001
My till reciept is dated 21/05/00

Well i can't understand this because when i go to view my calls it states that my start date was 2000-05-30 16:03:53, i have a bill date as 2000-07-03 00:00:00, god knows what that means and the End Date box is empty so i don't know whats going on.
Anyway if they don't give me the extra month as promised i will be taking it up with trading standards.
It is also pretty obvious that there are cowboys sat at the other end bacause after i mailed them asking about it i got one back saying the mailbox was full.

Although the disc went on sale at the start of May no ones contract ends until June. it looks like everyone will be getting their extra month after all.

they only gave a free month to those people who experienced problems in May last year and if you bought the disk and loaded after the 14th of May 2000 I bet you'll find you can still log on today. By rights the contract ended on the 13th of May this year if you loaded the software on the 14th of May last year.
there's no reason to doubt that they will honour what they said. I'm willing to bet that you'll be on well into June. they said they are hoping to start sending e-mails out this week to customers giving them a bit more information.

I had a long conversation with LS support about my subscription. I'm on the Unlimited plan. I bought my disk on 23 May 2000 and still have the email about an extra month. However, I upgraded to Unlimited on 21 June 2000. According to what I was told, I get the full year from 21 June 2000 PLUS my extra month, which gives me until 21 JULY 2001.
Anyone else confirm these findings?
Nick
By the way, as I speak the unlimited AND off-peak numbers are both dead and have been so for 24 hours. I was told to use the peak number - so I DEFINITELY want a credit against my account for that!

Correction, I upgraded on 21 July 2000 so I should be unlimited until 21 AUGUST 2001!
How likely is it that this will happen?!!

Now asked them again (line is dead because of maintenance apparently, and no, I won't be credited with any time), and the free month only applied to my off-peak account... which I don't now have coz I upgraded. So my free month has evaporated.
I sort of agree that I shouldn't be able to get a month of unlimited access (I wasn't on unlimited when the free month offer went out), but I still think I should get a free month of off-peak at the end of my year.
Then again (sigh), why not just give in gracefully and go elsewhere? £55 for a year of 24-hour Internet was the deal of the century, so I haven't done badly.
BUT if I pay for something I expect to get it, however good value it is, and I will fight for every hour I have paid for!!!
Bitchin' over for now, but I will not give in!

libertysurf has been a great isp even tho it has had probs but for the time you've spent on it how much would it cost for the equiv of freeserve pay per minute access etc
i worked mine out 700 hours @ 3p / min whatever it is i dont know
700 x £1.80 = nealy £1400 whoa massive savings!!!!

Overnight Libertysurf's bad service problems (ie no working phone line!! and blocking/no access to certain sites) seems to have been fixed. Let's hope it's a clear run until end of July when my subscription runs out. I agree, it's been a great deal - but when it stops working it's annoying, and would be so even if it had been totally free!
Here's a thought:
What if you bought a LS disk from Comet last year and haven't yet used it. Would you be able to do start your year right now with what by rights should be a valid, new subscription? I wish I'd bought 2 disks so I could find out about that one.

It wouldn't Have worked because the 0800 988 9997 number which the disk used 2 sign up has now been discontinued so the disc would be a waste of time.
I agree that LibertySurf is being pretty good 2nite, it is fast and the blocked sites now work!. Maybe its because people are being taken off the system or maybe LibertySurf and Tiscali's telecoms systems have now merged???!.
