While disabling my onboard audio i noticed my BIOS are set for a non PNP OS, should this not be set to a PNP OS as i am running Win98?

That would seem reasonable to me too.
No doubt someone will have a good reason for not having it set though!!

The Bios PNP settings shoulkd be disabled where you start to get IRQ confilcts with ports,
Some Software Mopdems try to set themnselves up on "Virtual Ports" which are then also problematic.
By disabling this is doesnt stop the OS from detecting it but allows manual configuration of which Ports and relevant IRQ Settings,
Problems can be further encountered with the PCI IRQ steering feautre in Win98 where IRQ ports are shared.
If it aint broke dont fix it LOL.
