Webserver log access

Hi all,

When I FTP into any server, access is no longer available to the logs.

Is this a privacy matter?

I used to find it handy on the odd occasion to look at the logs, not really a big problem just useful at times.

Apparently its never been possible to view the logs via FTP.
It has however, and still is, possible to see a shortcut to the logs folder, but it has only been possible to access the logs either via SSH, a script on the site, or the logs tool in the control panel.
